Testimony

I had to give my testimony in church yesterday. I was so nervous but I had lots of faithful friends praying for me and it definitely helped. I am posting it here so I have it in a permanent place for my kids and their kids. It was good to reflect on where I came from and where God has brought me. Thank you Faith Bible for letting me share.


What was your life like before Christ?- I grew up in a Christian home. A very loving Christ- centered home. I was taught about God’s truth and grace. I thought I knew it all. When I got into High School I struggled with wanting to be apart of the world but also knowing in my heart that I couldn’t serve two masters. My love for the world grew and I became involved with Tony, who was a not a Christian. I started making compromises with my purity. Sin took me down a road I thought I would never go. I found myself 19 and pregnant.

How did Christ save you?- Well prior to becoming pregnant I had gone to a women’s retreat with my mom. It was there that the Holy Spirit convicted me of my sin and how I was not truly living for Christ. I decided then and there that I was going to surrender my life to Christ and live for Him. I humbly asked for forgiveness and began the journey of restoration. I came back knowing that my relationship with Tony was probably not going to work out. A week later I found out I was pregnant. Although my parents were disappointed they loved me and showed me God’s grace! Tony had many options of what he thought we should do with this baby. But I knew of only one- and that was to keep the baby. I knew Christ was in control and He was going to take care of me whatever may come. Through this time I drew closer to Christ and learned what it truly meant to follow Him. Romans 7 says “what a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death? Thanks be to God( who saves me) through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

What is your life like know that you are a Christian?- I am now in a day by day relationship with the One whose birth we celebrate on Christmas day! I know true forgiveness of sin and freedom from its bondage which Jesus bought with His life. Through God’s grace Tony became a Christian and we have celebrated 12 years of marriage and the blessing of 4 boys. The Lord’s loving- kindness indeed never cease and His compassion never fails to amaze me.
