Grandmas Hands

I had the privilege of being able to go to my Grandmas house to watch her make her famous pie crust. We have always joked that when she is gone we will be left with no "famous" pie because none of us ladies no how to make it. I am thankful that lives so close. As I was watching her make her crust I couldn't help but notice her hands.
~Hands that have held milk udders when living on the farm
~Hands that worked hard plucking off the feathers of chickens
~Hands that held a boy named Billy Ray whom she called her husband for 54 years!
~Hands that held 4 babies- loving them and caring for them
~Hands that played the piano in our little baptist church growing up
~Hands that hold her bible oh so dear
~Hands that give her 19 grandchildren and great-grandchildren hugs that seem like she is a big
bear.
~Hands that held her husbands hands while he passed from this earth
I love my Grandmas hands! And I love that they not only make her famous pie crust but they bring so much love and joy to the rest of us who have the privilege of knowing her! Now go tell your Grandma that you love her! :)

That's beautiful Holly! I didn't grow up close to a grandma. How awesome and what great perspective.

Awww, I love your Grandma!

And you're so right about their hands. Though my Grandma passed when I was young (8? 9??) I *vividly* remember her hands. They were so worn and tan and wrinkly yet so soft. They had such stories.....
