Gossip: sinful talk often secret -can be true or untrue. Promotes pride in the speaker. Spreads unfavorable information.

Flattery is saying something to someone that you wouldn't say behind their back. Gossip is just the opposite.

6 truths about gossip
1. God hates gossip - it says something bad about someone God cares deeply about!

God created them and loves them. He died for them!!!

proverbs 6:16

2. A gossip is a fool.

Biblical wisdom is the skill of living life. A fool is the opposite of a wise man. No skill in living life!!!!

3. Gossip separates friends and destroys fellowship.

Don't let gossip influence the way you think about anyone EXCEPT the person gossiping. Prov 18.

4. Gossips are to be avoided. Run away. Gossip settles in you an influences you in your thots of others.

5. Gossip is opposed to Christian love. 1 Corinthians 13 prov 17:9

Preston has been at Winter Camp for church and they have been discussing the tongue. My friend went up yesterday and heard the sermon on gossip. These are always good reminders for us all. Not only is the tongue used for evil but lets not forget that it can be used to love and build up. As the old saying goes" If you don't have anything nice to say don't say it at all!"
